NEW ALCOHOL IMPORTER AND WHOLESALER REQUIREMENTS

Effective February 14, 2011, TTB requires that every application to operate as an Alcohol Importer and Alcohol Wholesaler include the documents listed below. You will have a grace period from February 14, 2011 through April 15, 2011; during this time we will continue processing your application even if you have not provided these documents in your submission.  However, after April 15, 2011, we will consider your application incomplete unless these documents are included with the application:

  • Source of Funds Documentation
  • Trade Name Registration (if required by State or local government)
  • Organizational Documents:

THE FOLLOWING MUST BE SUBMITTED FOR ALL CORPORATIONS:

  • Articles of Incorporation and Certificate of Incorporation/Formation
  • By-Laws
  • Certificate to Operate in a Foreign State (if organized in a different state)

THE FOLLOWING MUST BE SUBMITTED FOR ALL PARTNERSHIPS:

  • Partnership Agreement

THE FOLLOWING MUST BE SUBMITTED FOR LLCS:

  • Operating Agreement,
  • Articles of Incorporation and Certificate of Incorporation/Formation

TTB enforces the laws and writes the regulations on the collection of alcohol, tobacco, and firearms and ammunition excises taxes, as well as the labeling, advertising, and marketing of alcohol beverages.
