Kevin J. Boland serves the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) as the Director of the National Revenue Center (NRC), located in Cincinnati, Ohio.  As Director of NRC, Mr. Boland oversees 200 dedicated employees whose primary duties are to serve our customers with permit and registration applications, filing and payment of taxes, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The NRC supports the Bureau by collecting over $15 billion of excise tax revenues and providing expert technical assistance for industry, the public and government agencies to ensure fair and proper revenue collection and public safety.

Mr. Boland brings more than 27 years of private sector experience in accounting management and controllership to his position.  Prior to joining TTB, Mr. Boland served as ROLM Corporation’s controller of the Eastern States and Manhattan Areas.  Mr. Boland’s career with ROLM (and later, through consolidations and acquisitions, with IBM and Siemens AG) thrived, and included opportunities to work in New York, Connecticut, California, and Florida, as well as overseas as Business Administration Service Manager for Siemens Communications in Singapore.

Mr. Boland began his Federal career as a senior auditor for the Tax Audit Division (TAD) in Tampa, Florida, just after the formation of TTB in April 2003, and was promoted to the position of District Director for the TAD Field Office in Manchester, New Hampshire, in February 2006. In June 2008, Mr. Boland received TTB’s award for the Outstanding Supervisory Employee. He was promoted to his current position in August 2008.

Mr. Boland obtained a B.S. degree in accounting and taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, New Jersey in 1975.
