Dr. Sumer M. Dugar

Director, Scientific Services Division

Dr. Sumer M. Dugar is the Director, Scientific Services Division, Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau(TTB), Department of the Treasury. In this capacity, Dr. Dugar manages the operations of three TTB Laboratories and provides leadership in technology innovation. TTB Laboratories provide the scientific support and technical guidance to the Bureau’s program offices in fulfilling their missions – to collect the revenue rightfully due and to protect the public.

Dr. Dugar is very active in professional organizations. Currently, he is the Chair of the AOAC International Methods Committee on Additives, Beverages and Food Process Related Analytes. Dr. Dugar is also a member of the AOAC International Official Methods Board. AOAC International’s official analytical methods are recognized methods for regulatory compliance.

Dr. Dugar received his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, India and his MBA from the University of Baltimore. He has over 30 years of professional experience in private sectors and with government agencies. Dr. Dugar has in excess of 60 publications and scientific presentations to his credit.
