Susan W. Berndt is an Assistant Director of the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau’s Advertising, Labeling and Formulation Division (ALFD). Ms. Berndt leads the Market Compliance Office, responsible for monitoring alcohol beverages in the marketplace, responding to consumer complaints, assuring alcohol beverage advertisements comply with the Federal Alcohol Administration (FAA) Act and regulations, and assisting Field Operations with FAA Act investigations.

Ms. Berndt began her government service in 2003. She has 18 years of experience in management, customer service, and process improvement gained through positions including operations manager for the Center for e-Service at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park, director of community-based education programs at the National Wildlife Federation, and marketing manager at the Travel Industry Association of America.
