Assistant Chief of the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau's Advertising

Teresa Knapp is the Assistant Chief of the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau’s Advertising, Labeling and Formulation Division (ALFD). Ms. Knapp has direct oversight of the labeling team, which is responsible for labeling of all domestic and imported alcohol beverages.

Teresa comes to us from the U.S. Department of Agriculture where she was Acting Director, Procurement and Donations Division for Commodity Operations under the Farm Service Agency. She was responsible for 3 branches that formulated national policies and procedures to administer the operations of the Commodity Credit Corporation related to the price support program for milk and the procurement of commodities under various legislative authorities specifically for donation to domestic and foreign food assistance programs.

Prior to that assignment, she was Acting Director for Urban and Community Forestry with the US Forest Service in Washington, D.C. She also served as the Public Affairs Staff Officer overseeing both the media as well as legislative affairs for the National Forests in Mississippi for three years prior to returning to the Washington Office.

Teresa has received a number of awards for her outstanding management and leadership throughout her career. She resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
