Thomas R. Crone

Deputy Assistant Administrator, Field Operations

Thomas R. Crone was named Deputy Assistant Administrator for Field Operations of the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, effective May 1, 2005. He recently headed the Bureau’s Trade Investigations Division.

Mr. Crone began his career with the Treasury Department in 1963, and has held a number of supervisory and managerial positions with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF). Mr. Crone served as Deputy Chief of the Arson and Explosives Division, and as Director of Industry Operations for the Phoenix Field Division. Prior to being appointed Director of TTB’s Trade Investigations Division, Mr. Crone served as ATF’s Chief, Regulations Division
