29, 2003 Stephen G. Taylor Selected As Assistant Chief, ALFD The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Office of Headquarters Operations, is pleased to announce the selection of Stephen G. Taylor as an Assistant Chief to Karen Freelove, Chief of the Advertising, Labeling and Formulation Division (ALFD). Mr. Taylor, a thirty - year veteran of Maryland State government, brings with him a plethora of investigative, supervisory, and administrative experience. Early in his career, Stephen worked as an Investigator and Field Agent for the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration. In 1978, he joined the Maryland Comptroller of the Treasury and worked in the Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax Division. Stephen worked as a Motor Fuel Inspector, an Inspection Field Supervisor, and as a Program Manager within the Motor Fuel Inspection Section of the Division. After a reorganization of the Division in 1993, Stephen assumed the position of Special Projects Manager reporting directly to the Division Director. In 1998, Stephen was selected as the Assistant Director for Administration within the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Division of the Comptroller's Office, and was promoted to Deputy Director of the Division in 1999. As Deputy Director, Stephen was responsible for monitoring and enforcement of alcohol trade practice regulations and enforcing the provisions of the Maryland Cigarette Below Cost Act. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Technology and an Executive Master of General Administration degree both from the University of Maryland University College. Stephen
will be assigned to lead the Market Compliance Team within ALFD, which is responsible
for monitoring alcohol advertising and product quality. |
