TTB PUBLISHES TOBACCO REGULATIONS AND NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULEMAKING

We have published regulations regarding tobacco tax rate increases and floor stocks tax. See temporary rule T.D. TTB-75 and the related notice of proposed rulemaking, Notice No. 93.

TTB ANNOUNCES ESTABLISHMENT OF HAW RIVER VALLEY VITICULTURAL AREA

Effective April 29, 2009, TTB established the 868 square-mile "Haw River Valley" American viticultural area in Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Guilford, Orange, and Rockingham Counties in north-central North Carolina.

TTB designates viticultural areas to allow vintners to better describe the origin of their wines and to allow consumers to better identify wines they may purchase.
