BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO WINE DECLARATIONS STILL REQUIREDA number of importers have recently asked TTB whether a declaration of compliance for Brunello di Montalcino wine is still required. The declaration requirements for Brunello di Montalcino wine issued June 23, 2008, in TTB Industry Circular 2008-2, remain in force. Pursuant to this TTB circular, all importers of Brunello di Montalcino wine have been required to have in their possession at the time of the wine's release from United States Customs and Border Protection custody, a declaration from the Government of Italy. The declaration must attest that the wine meets the requirements of the Brunello di Montalcino controlled appellation and that the wine is acceptable for sale as such in Italy. GERALD (JERRY) LANGLAIS RETIRESJerry Langlais, Administrator of the Connecticut Division of Liquor Control, and Past President of the National Conference of State Liquor Administrators, announced his retirement. We all wish Jerry the best! ASKING INPUT FROM STATE REGULATORSWe are in the process of developing a section on our Web site, www.ttb.gov, that will be dedicated to state regulators. In order to make this page as helpful to you as possible, please give us your suggestions as to what you would like to see. Please forward to Frosty Chapman at stateliaison@ttb.gov. Thank you.
