I am happy to announce the appointment of Ms. Mary Ryan to the position of TTB Deputy Administrator. Ms. Ryan brings nearly twenty years of experience in the enforcement of the Federal Alcohol Administration Act (FAA Act) and the Internal Revenue Code (IRC), through various perspectives, as counsel, supervisor and executive. Prior to her most recent position as Assistant Administrator (Field Operations), Ms. Ryan held the position of Deputy Chief Counsel and, previously, legal supervisory and staff positions directed to FAA Act and IRC enforcement covering all aspects of TTB's jurisdiction. Under her leadership, TTB established what is now the Intelligence Division (formerly Trade Analysis and Enforcement Division), which has established TTB's position in the area of tobacco and alcohol diversion. Ms. Ryan's background in TTB's jurisdiction and leadership demonstrates that she is undoubtedly the right choice for this position.
