TTB Notice No. 41 Comments

FORM LETTER 10

Dear U.S. TTB,

I have come to expect that any packaged food and beverage I consume contains basic information like serving size and the amount of protein, per serving. Food, nonalcoholic beverages, drugs, even dietary supplements all provide basic consumer facts about the product on the label. But I noticed that for some reason, alcoholic beverages are exempt from this standard.

I am writing to you today to ask the TTB to make this information readily available to consumers. I know that some companies that sell their products around the world voluntarily provide standard drinks information on product labels in the United Kingdom, and I don?t understand why the federal government doesn?t allow disclosure of this information in the U.S.

Diageo's proposed Serving Facts label will provide important, basic information like alcohol content, serving size, and alcohol per serving. This information will help adults know what they are drinking and to moderate their consumption.

Please provide consumers this information. There is no reason not to.

Thank you very much for your consideration.

Sincerely,

[Brewery/Business/Association Name Here]
