Teresa G. McWhirt Selected As Assistant Chief, ALFD

The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Office of Headquarters Operations, is pleased to announce the selection of Teresa G. McWhirt as an Assistant Chief to Karen Freelove, Chief of the Advertising, Labeling and Formulation Division (ALFD). Ms. McWhirt, a 20-year career federal employee, brings with her an extensive wealth of knowledge and career experience relating to legislative affairs, public affairs, supervisory and leadership experience.

Teresa comes to us from the U.S. Department of Agriculture where she was Director, Procurement and Donations Division for Commodity Operations under the Farm Service Agency. She was responsible for 3 branches that formulated national policies and procedures to administer the operations of the Commodity Credit Corporation related to the price support program for milk and the procurement of commodities under various legislative authorities specifically for donation to domestic and foreign food assistance programs.

Prior to that assignment, she was Director for Urban and Community Forestry with the US Forest Service in Washington, D.C. She also served as the Public Affairs Staff Officer overseeing both the media as well as legislative affairs for the National Forests in Mississippi for three years prior to returning to the Washington Office.

Teresa has received a number of awards for her outstanding management and leadership throughout her career.

Teresa will be assigned to lead the Labeling Team within ALFD, which is responsible for labeling of all domestic and imported alcohol beverages.
