The look and feel of pay.gov has changed due to an upgrade in software. For example, the user can now expand or contract sections of the form by using the ‘+’ icon. The information contained in the forms and the validation of the forms has not changed.

File and Pay Online

Filing electronically is the fastest and most accurate way to file operational reports and excise tax returns with TTB and also provides a secure way to make excise tax payments. You must have Signing Authority (TTB Form 5100.1) or Power of Attorney (TTB Form 5000.8) on file with TTB to submit Federal Excise Tax Returns and/or Reports of Operations for your company. To get started, follow the instructions below.

Instructions

  1. Create a Pay.gov Account

    Create account on Pay.gov.

  2. Select the TTB form you want to file

    File TTB form on Pay.gov

  3. Fill out the form you need to file

    If you are not sure which form you need, please visit Business Central to check your filing responsibilities

  4. Submit the form and payment if required

Filing Deadlines

Be sure to submit your filings and payments on time. Electronic payments must be made by 8:55 PM Eastern Time the business day prior the due date. To see more information on filing deadlines, please read the Tax Returns & Reports Due Dates.
