Financial Hardship Contact Request

If you are unable to pay taxes that TTB collects, you may be eligible under the Internal Revenue Code for an installment agreement, an extension of time to pay, or an offer in compromise.  To minimize penalties and interest, file all required federal excise tax returns, even if you cannot pay the full amount due.  For information about filing and payment deadlines, see our Taxes and Filing guidance and Operational Report requirements.  You can submit current and past due excise tax returns and operational reports electronically through Pay.gov.

If you would like to discuss your financial hardship with TTB, please provide your contact information below.  TTB will contact you within 7 business days upon receiving your request.

In order for TTB to discuss sensitive tax matters, the contact person must either have Power of Attorney or Signing Authority on file with TTB.  If you do not have Power of Attorney or Signing Authority on file with us, please attach a properly executed TTB F 5000.8 or TTB F 5100.1 in the attachment field below.

Other questions? The National Revenue Center (NRC) is available to answer general questions via the NRC Contact Form.
