The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Office of Headquarters Operations, is pleased to announce the selection of Susan B. Weil as an Assistant Chief to Karen Freelove, Chief of the Advertising, Labeling and Formulation Division (ALFD). Ms. Weil brings more than 16 years of experience in management, customer service, and process improvement.

Early in her career, Susan conducted research on consumer behavior and perceptions at the public relations firm Porter/Novelli. She then learned the sales side of business by selling computer-aided software engineering tools to a host of large corporations. She was given the honor of Top Salesperson in 1989. She was then chosen for a management position at the Travel Industry Association of America where she led the marketing and public relations team.

In 1998, Susan was selected to direct the Outdoor Education Programs at the National Wildlife Federation. She worked closely with the customer service team and implemented strategic decisions to increase program identity and consumer value. In 1999 she was promoted to Director of Community-based Education Programs, gaining oversight responsibility for five national programs and a staff of 19. Most recently, Susan was operations manager for the Center for e-Service at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Susan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in international management from the University of Georgia and an MBA in international management from Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management.

Susan is assigned to lead the Formula and Customer Service Teams within ALFD.
