Use Formulas Online, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to check on the status of your formula application.

We've added a new resource to our formulation pages at TTB.gov!

Visit our new Processing Times for Beverage Alcohol Formulas page to view the Current Formula  Processing Times chart, which shows up-to-date processing information for beverage alcohol formulas, both those that require sample analysis and those that do not. Now you can use the chart, which we update daily, to estimate when your formula application is likely to be processed.

Our goal is to give you quick, online access to an up-to-date estimate of the average number of days we are taking to process applications, so you can better manage your internal processes and plans to get your product into the marketplace.

View the actual chart at our Processing Times for Beverage Alcohol Formulas page. We've included the mock chart below to illustrate how we've organized the current formula processing times information.

*New applications are those we have not yet reviewed. However, electronic applications resubmitted for correction always takes priority over new applications.

  • Application Type — We list the processing times for formula applications (where no sample is required) by commodity, i.e., distilled spirits, malt beverages, and wine. We also list in the bottom row of the chart the average processing time for all formula applications where sample analysis is required.
  • Average Formula Processing Time (Calendar Days) — This column lists the average number of days it takes to process your application, from the time we receive it (or your lab sample) until either we approve or reject it. This includes the time it takes to analyze your samples (if required), and any time spent sending electronic applications back and forth for correction.
  • Today we are Processing New Applications where either the Formula or Sample was Received On — If you originally submitted your application or lab sample after the date posted in this column, then we have received your application but have NOT assigned it to a formula specialist and won't have any information about your application status.

Remember, if you submitted your application through Formulas Online, it's as easy as logging into your account - available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - to check on the status of your application.
