Former Napa Winemaker Charged with Mislabeling Wine

Tobacco Importer Charged with Failure to Pay Federal Excise TaxesJeffry Hill was arrested on November 2, 2016 after having been indicted for mail fraud and wire fraud in connection with his operation of Hill Wine Company in Napa County, California.

According to the indictment, Hill defrauded Hill Wine Company's customers by misrepresenting the geographic origin and grape varietal of the wine and wine products that he sold, thus causing customers to pay more than they would otherwise have paid, or to buy products that they would not have otherwise bought.
