FDA ANNOUNCES PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS ITS PROPOSED FOOD SAFETY RULES

The FDA announced a public meeting on Thursday, November 13, 2014, in College Park, Maryland, to discuss its four recently revised proposed rules implementing the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). In general, the FDA's revised proposed rules concern food processers and manufacturers, the growers of certain fruits and vegetables, and food importers, and each proposal affects certain members of the alcohol beverage industry. Registration to attend the meeting closes on November 7, 2014; comments on these proposed rules may be sent to the FDA until December 15, 2014.  See the FDA's Federal Register notice for details on how to attend the meeting, comment at the meeting, or send comments on these proposed rules to the FDA.
