TTB WEBINAR: ALL ABOUT WHISKY

TTB ACCEPTS $40,000 OFFER IN COMPROMISE FROM INDIAN RIVER BEVERAGE CORPORATION

TTB has accepted a $40,000 offer in compromise from Indian River Beverage Corporation (doing business as Celtic Drinks Company) for failure to properly classify wine/cider for tax purposes and for failing to timely report and pay federal excise tax.

MOHAMMED KAYED SENTENCED FOR CONSPIRING TO TRAFFIC IN CONTRABAND CIGARETTES

On Tuesday, June 5, 2018, Mohammed Kayed, aka Mohammed Fayez, of Clifton, New Jersey, was sentenced to 30 months incarceration for conspiring to traffic in contraband cigarettes.

PROPOSED INFORMATION COLLECTIONS; COMMENT REQUEST (NO. 69)

On May 30, 2018, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, we published in the Federal Register a notice requesting public comments on 12 existing TTB information collections (forms and recordkeeping requirements).

The 12 information collections open for comment are:

  • 1513–0040, Application for Operating Permit under 26 U.S.C. 5171(d) (TTB F 5110.25);
  • 1513–0052, Alcohol Fuel Plants (AFP) Records, Reports, and Notices (TTB F 5110.75);
  • 1513–0094, Federal Firearms and Ammunition Quarterly Excise Tax Return (TTB F 5300.26);
  • 1513–0103, Tobacco Bond—Collateral, Tobacco Bond—Surety, and Tobacco Bond (TTB F 5200.25, F 5200.26, and F 5200.29);
  • 1513–0107, Monthly Report—Importer of Tobacco Products or Processed Tobacco (TTB F 5220.6);
  • 1513–0118, Formulas for Fermented Beverage Products (TTB REC 5052/1); and
  • 1513–0122, Formula and Process for Domestic and Imported Alcohol Beverages (TTB F 5100.51).
