IN THIS ISSUE

Greetings! This week’s top news includes new formula basics guidance, two distilled spirits webinars, an invitation to sign up for automated tax return and operational report due date reminders, and a Federal Register notice seeking comments on a new U.S. government 3-year Joint Strategic Plan on Intellectual Property Enforcement.

ALCOHOL BEVERAGE FORMULA BASICS GUIDANCE PUBLISHED

This week we published Formula Approval Basics for Domestic Producers and Importers of Alcohol Beverages. Published as TTB Guidance 2018-10, this new web page contains a number of questions and answers to help the novice industry member learn the basics about TTB alcohol beverage formula approvals. Topics include:

  • How do I know if my product requires formula approval?
  • At what stage do I apply for formula approval?
  • What information will I need to complete the application in Formulas Online?
  • How long does a formula remain valid?
  • When am I required to file a new formula or a superseding formula?

This new guidance basically replaces the outdated information contained in TTB Industry Circular 2007-4, which has been removed from TTB.gov.

Visit our Alcohol Beverage Formula Approval page to view this as well as additional formula guidance topics.
