Brent Beckwith is the Director of the Intelligence Division (ID) of the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). Mr. Beckwith directs a staff of analysts, who are responsible for the collection, analysis, and timely dissemination of intelligence to other TTB divisions in support of their regulatory and law enforcement functions. Toward these objectives, ID personnel monitor the domestic trade in alcohol and tobacco products, as well as the firearms excise tax.
Mr. Beckwith began with TTB in 2006 as a program manager within the Tobacco Enforcement Division, which was later renamed the Intelligence Division. Prior to working with TTB, he served as a senior analyst in the Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) where he supported numerous major tobacco trafficking investigations, and before that, Mr. Beckwith worked as a counter-terrorism analyst with the Department of Defense. He began his career in 1986 as a military intelligence collector and analyst in the United States Army.
