Need a Status Check for a Claim Submitted Online?

  • Login to myTTB CBMA Imports to get the current status of your importer claim and refund.

Note: TTB plans to enable the online submission and status check for other claims via myTTB in the future.

Reading the Chart

  • Claim Processing Time: Defined as median number of days it takes to process and pay your claim (in calendar days) – from the time we receive it until we either approve or deny it (in full or in part) and issue your refund. This includes any time spent addressing errors or requesting additional supporting documentation. Expect processing delays if we need additional information related to your claim submission.

We suggest that you only contact us to inquire about the status of your claim if we have exceeded the posted service standard.

  • CBMA Importer Claims: Includes claims filed using the alternate procedure authorized for importers under specific circumstances (“manual claim submissions”). Expect processing delays for manual claim submissions as they require additional TTB review.
  • All Other Tax Claims: Includes claims for overpayments, lost or destroyed products, product returned to bond, export drawback, cash bonds, and abatement of tax.

Ready to Submit a Claim?

  • Go to myTTB CBMA Imports to submit your import refund claim online. Once you have registered for an account, log in and follow the instructions and prompts to file your claim.

See our video on how to address common errors in CBMA Importer Claims submissions that can lead to processing delays.

  • For Manufacturer of Nonbeverage Products drawback claims and all other claims, use our electronic submission process to submit your claim form and supporting documentation.

Export drawback claims are submitted on separate forms for wine, beer, distilled spirits, and tobacco.
