Miscellaneous Information

TTB is the Federal agency that collects the Federal excise taxes on alcohol, tobacco, and firearms and ammunition from the manufacturers of those products. TTB also administers the Federal laws and regulations related to those taxes, as well as the Federal laws and regulations related to the labeling and advertising of alcohol beverages.

Each of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and other U.S. territories has their own alcohol and tobacco laws, as do many local jurisdictions. For example, laws relating to alcohol consumption such as underage drinking and drunk driving are governed by each State, while smoking in public places may be regulated on the local level. You can learn more about your State and local alcohol and tobacco laws in your State's or city's website or by checking with your State or local legislators.
