Reminder: Postponed Tax Filings and Payments Due
Posted 07/10/2020 by the Office of Communications
We want to remind industry members of the due dates for tax returns, tax payments, and operational reports.
On March 31, 2020, TTB issued guidance that postponed certain tax payment and other filing due dates. In July, the postponed payment and filing deadlines from April will be due along with the usual July payment and filing deadlines.
- A listing of the new due dates for paying your Federal excise taxes and filing Federal excise tax returns appears in Attachment A1 — Postponed 2020 Due Dates for Paying Excise Taxes and Filing Returns with TTB Due to COVID-19.
- A listing of the new due dates for filing your operational reports appears in Attachment B — Postponed 2020 Due Dates for Filing Operational Reports with TTB Due to COVID-19.
You can use Pay.gov to electronically file your Federal excise tax returns, pay your taxes, and submit operational reports. Visit our TTB and Pay.gov Customer Page for more information.
Having difficulty paying your Federal excise taxes?
If you are unable to pay the full amount of taxes you owe, we recommend that you still file your Federal excise tax returns and operational reports with TTB by the due dates and pay as much as you can to minimize penalties and interest.
You can submit current and past due excise tax returns and operational reports electronically through Pay.gov.
