Part Three - What to Expect after Submission
After We Receive Your Application
Once your application package is received, it will be assigned immediately. We generally work on applications in the order they are received, so you may not hear from us right away. A thorough review will take place which will result in one of the following:
- Returned for Correction
- Correction Requested
- Correction Made
- Acceptable As Is
Returned for Correction
Your application may be returned to you to make corrections. The person designated as the “Application Contact” will receive an email advising an action is required. You will need to sign in to your Permits Online account and review the “Correction Checklist” which will identify what corrections need to be made and where within the application to make the changes. The status of the application will change to “Correct Application”. Once all corrections have been made, you will return the application back to TTB for further processing. Your application will be returned in the order in which it was originally received. You will receive a confirmation email from TTB when your updated application is received.
Note: You can change the filter on your “My Records” page to “Correct Application”. This action will isolate your list to only show the applications TTB has returned back to you for corrections.
Correction Requested
If required supporting documentation was not submitted, we’ll email the person who was designated as the “Application Contact,” with a list of what is missing. The status of the application will change to “Correction Requested”. Once you upload the required document(s) in Permits Online, our review of the application will continue. IMPORTANT - You MUST upload the requested documentation within 15 days of notification or your application may be “Abandoned.”
Correction Made
If your application needs a simple correction, we’ll email or call the “Application Contact” and describe the corrections that need to be made. Generally, with your permission, we will make the corrections to the application for you.
Acceptable
If your application is deemed acceptable as submitted, it will be approved.
