Permits Online: Preview the Tax - Free Alcohol Application

Note: This page contains instructions and screenshots so you can see what to expect when using Permits Online, our online method of applying for a TTB permit, registration, or notice.

File this application if you plan to withdraw and use tax-free alcohol.  Certain types of organizations (such as scientific universities, colleges of learning, certain other educational institutions, laboratories, hospitals, blood banks, sanitariums, clinics operated for charity) may procure and use tax-free alcohol for authorized nonbeverage purposes (such as scientific research and medicinal uses).

Under this permit you are NOT permitted to use tax-free alcohol in the manufacture of any product for sale, or sell any products resulting from the use of tax-free alcohol.

* Please note: not all questions shown in the screen prints below will appear when you fill out your application. Some questions appear based on the answers you select.

Step 2: Operation description

*Depending on which way you will use the tax free alcohol, different questions will appear. If you plan to recover the alcohol, an additional question will be added.

Step 3: Upload required documents
