IN THIS ISSUE

Greetings! This week’s top news includes two new grape varieties that are approved for American wine, where to go to get TTB training, and a survey invite offering you the opportunity to share your thoughts on some service improvements we’re considering.

NEW GRAPE VARIETIES APPROVED FOR DESIGNATING AMERICAN WINE

We recently granted administrative approval for the use of the following new grape variety names on American wine labels:

  • Savagnin / Savagnin blanc
  • Poulsard

Wine bottlers may use these names, as well as other names granted administrative approval, to label American wines pending the results of our next rulemaking to revise the list found in 27 CFR 4.91 of grape variety names approved for use in designating American wines.

Visit our American Grape Variety Names page at TTB.gov for additional information about the regulation of grape variety names.

INTERESTED IN TTB TRAINING?

Our Outreach Program page is a one-stop shop for you to stay informed about upcoming opportunities to learn from TTB employees and to get your questions answered. Each year we partner with many organizations to make educational presentations or answer questions at industry events. The Outreach Program page lists future events where we’ll be in attendance.

If you can’t make an event, you can always view the presentations we’ve made on our TTB Presentations page.  Education and outreach are priorities for us, and we hope you’ll bookmark the Outreach Program page and take advantage of opportunities to meet and learn from TTB employees.

SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON OUR PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS TO TTB SERVICES

As we formulate our plan for which projects to undertake in the coming years, we’d like to hear from industry members in the alcohol beverage community. Your feedback will help us understand which ideas would most increase your satisfaction with TTB services and help us focus our work.

If you are a member of the alcohol beverage community who is responsible for preparing TTB applications, tax returns, and/or operational reports, please take our short survey (hosted by SurveyMonkey®) and share your thoughts on some service improvements we’re considering:

The survey should take no more than 5 minutes to complete, and your responses will be anonymous (although there is an opportunity at the end of the survey to sign up to give us more focused feedback in the future if you are willing).

Thanks in advance for your time and ideas!
