Regulations and Guidance
TTB Proposes to Modernize Wine Premises Permit Applications
In Notice No. 234, we propose deregulatory amendments to our wine premises permit application regulations and to relax some reporting requirements associated with changes to the businesses of proprietors of wine premises. We believe that the proposed amendments will significantly reduce the time needed to complete any application to establish and operate wine premises. Comments on this proposed rule are due to TTB on or before December 2, 2024.
TTB Seeks Further Comments on Standards of Fill for Wine & Distilled Spirits
In response to our earlier proposals concerning standards of fill for wine and distilled spirits, we received requests for additional standards of fill and an end to the distinction between the standards of fill for distilled spirits in cans and those for other types of containers. As a result, we have issued a supplemental notice of proposed rulemaking to solicit new comments on the requests made in response to our original proposal.
TTB Established the San Luis Rey AVA
In this final rule, we establish the new San Luis Rey American viticultural area (AVA) in San Diego County, California, effective September 30, 2024.
